The Last Picture #3, and mining poo-shrapnel.

My favorite read today.

“Having no prior experience in the matter, I always imagined that after the real work of potty training was over and done with, so too would end my responsibility to interact with someone else’s poop.  The months of mining poo-shrapnel from the mysterious crevices of the male scrotal region would fade into distant memory, and I could once again enjoy a nice manicure without thinking, my gosh, whats the point?”

Oh that made me chuckle, as I’ve wondered from the start, how can poo be so hard to wipe off that little part of my baby boy’s body?  I’m anxiously  pushing potty training now.  Ready to stop changing 4 poopies a day.  Ready for some budget relief on buying less diapers.   Wish me luck!

Here, my boys are both 6 months old.   And I had Scott wear the same pajamas to show off their differences.  I can’t help but compare.  They are blood brothers but still so unique.  Scott wears clothes his actual age.  Jack wears clothes at least a year ahead of his age.  Always has.  At 6 months, Jack had more hair and it was obviously red.  Scott’s hair is still kind of missing and we’re not sure what the final color will be.    Everyone has different opinions on that.
Both are a joy and I love seeing them grow.  I so want to be present and aware of them equally.

Rolls

I just couldn’t help myself.  I’ve been thinking about this photo of Jack and wondered at what age he was.  I can’t believe that Scott is now that age and his legs might have one roll, but not 4.  How did Jack have so much stuffing  in his little thighs?  What a darling little chunk!  Now Scott is a darling little bird that is inspiring his Halloween costume.  :)

I love seeing the difference between these brothers.  At 5 months, Jack wore size 4 diapers.  Scott is still in size 1.    Scott naps much easier but maybe I’m just better at getting him to nap a second time around.  Scott averages 5 oz a feeding.  Jack was up to 7 oz.

Can you guess who is Jack and who is Scott?  They’re about the same age in these photos.

And our first day with Jack out of the hospital.

And I kept this one in color to show the trauma Jack went through from his delivery.  Bulge on his crown.    Red eyes, and broken blood vessels on his face.
And this is how he looked after two weeks of healing.

At the cabin

Found this photo the other day as I was going through my “Photo A  Day” folder for 2008.  I thought it would brighten my mom’s day.  Love you!
Jack was 7 months old here.
