Getting ready for 2009

There's kind of a lull after Christmas, not much is going on.  Work is slow, outings are slow, we feel slow.
But I felt a budding thrill as I noticed new swim suits swaying from the racks at Target.  I know, you're yelling, "way early!", but I've always been one of those happy shoppers spying some first signs of spring.
A swimsuit is a symbol of so many things I love about summer- the water, the sun, the traveling, the boating, the not worrying about a messy house.  It's summer after all.  But that's many months from now, and buying a swim suit in the winter somehow puts out some warmth and gives me something to look forward to.

Now to my business news, since we're heading into 2009.  Please note there are new session rates
As before, my focus is children and babies.  Oh! I love photographing newborns, and I have one coming in about a month.  So looking forward to it.
Mini Sessions are no longer available.  They took longer than I had anticipated and don't justify the time involved.

Also new this year for my clients, I found a local vendor who makes gorgeous canvas gallery wraps, ready to hang on the wall.
After a session with me, an order form will come with your proofs and portrait disc.
You can feel good knowing you're supporting a local company.

Heads up- I'm having a give away in January.  Check back soon.

Now what have we been up to lately?
Jack has been getting his molars and being clingy.  Three have popped through so far.  He's also toying with the idea of walking by taking a few steps here and there._MG_0606b

We finally got latches on the cabinets. Ya! no more Jack pulling everything out and all over the floor for the thousandth time.

We were in fog city with periods of sleep and blurry awareness. How does anyone function with a newborn in the house. These sleepy naps with Jack are some of our favorite moments.

A special Merry Christmas and a big thank you! to all my clients this year.  You've made it fun and a confirmation that I love to photograph children.  And I love surprising parents with pictures they love, especially after a shoot that seemed to have gone all wrong.

I can't wait to show more of Sophie's photo shoot, but that will have to wait till all celebrating is over with.  Just imagine the cutest little bee in an ice-cream shop.

And on a side note-
Am I the only one who gets teary eyed every time she watches JUNO?
Like the scene where her water breaks and "Thunder Cats a go!" and "Don't forget Liberty Bell!"  I just can't help but remember imagining Erica going into labor and her family all there to help, and her mom calling us and we're scrambling to get the house closed up, the garbage out, the lights out, the truck loaded, the food assembled, the dishes done, the mail key to the neighbor, and all this during the biggest snow storm of the year!
I have the most tender spot in my heart for Erica and that she chose us to be Jack's parents.

Thank you!
