This is the most families I have photographed in one session and what a whirl wind on the brain!!
It's the most Photoshoping I've had to do too, with getting every head facing front, and all eyes open and all natural smiles.
I was asking my mom the other day about whatever happened to all the Fisher Price toys we use to play with. Like the barn that moos when you open the door. Or the Castle with it's secret area behind the stairs. Or the Merry Go Round and the Ferris Wheel. Or the School with its little bell. Or the airport and the luggage. Or the Hospital. Or the dump truck thingy. Or the house.
So out of curiosity I searched "Vintage Fisher Price" on Etsy, and this is what I found.
We had all these! and more, and they were so much fun. Oh, how they bring back memories.
The Merry Go Round.
I wrote this to my sister this week:
"Yesterday I tried on some jean pants on Jack. Size 18 months, thinking
that's what he'll wear this fall. Well, they don't fit around his big
fat tummy. Even though the legs are longer than his feet. I checked the other pairs, and all his
pants don't fit!!! I pulled out a 24 month pair and it's the same width
as the 18 month, just has longer legs which is not what I need. I need
a clothes line for a fat short baby! What am I going to do! Poor
Jack has to be resigned to stretch pants already. Oh, and I had such
cute jeans for him too that I bought before we had him. Now I just have
to put them away and hope when he starts crawling that he'll loose
enough inches around the waist to fit into them."
What am I to do! Anyone else with this problem?
Here is Jack sporting his first athletic apparel, crawler knee pads. :) To help combat the above mentioned problem, I thought, maybe Jack just needs some traction, because he has shown no interest in crawling so far. Rolling seems good enough at the moment. They stick pretty good on our wood floor, so maybe they will help Jack get his belly off the ground.
oh those cheeks! They will forever get strangers to stop us in the streets.
My little bumper baby. Jack's been loving his walker he got this month (thanks Holly). Watching him haul as fast as he can towards something he wants is so hilarious, and he only stops by bumping into something.
July 24th
Today I pulled out some old childrens' books I've kept since my
childhood. Books with my ownership proudly drawn with a marker. I
wrote my name on everything. (Sorry mom about the closet door, and my
night lamp and …)
Remember Mercer Meyer? I have tons of his
little books. They were a favorite of mine and I would examine the
detailed illustrations more than care about the story.
Today I
showed one to Jack and loved to see him examine the pages very
intently. I know he's still young, but I can't help but wonder what
books he'll love to look at over and over, and maybe he'll save a box of them someday.
Another successful shoot at the Thanksgiving Point Gardens where we could roam and explore. I first photographed Max over a year ago and I love that I got a chance to photograph him again. I can’t wait to show his parents. ![]()
Can you see the rain drops?
And I’m so bummed that I missed the focus on this shot. I love his smile and gesture that is so little boy cute! But I guess a blurry shot is a true representation of an active toddler.
I just love little kids and blankets. There’s just nothing cuter!
Dressing up and costumes are one of my favorite things, and so I'm
excited to offer Costume Mini Sessions just in time for Halloween!! I
know, feels a little early, but I have limited spots available
through October.
Price
is just $50 a child, and you'll get two darling digitally
proofed photos on a disk that you can share with others and order
prints. I'll even throw in an 8×10 print. Sessions will be here at my studio
and I'll have various backgrounds to choose from.
So start thinking about those kids costumes!! and schedule your spot soon! I'm toying with Jack being a lobster or Chewbacca. But he's sure stinking cute as a skunk!
"Mini Hugs & Kisses"
Many thanks to my models for being willing to dress up in this hot August heat!
