My baby is graduating to toddlerhood now that he is turning one.
He and I have changed so much this year.
I am so grateful for him and I hope he will always know how much he is loved.
Weight: 29 lbs 2 oz
Height: 32.5 inches. Tall enough to reach too much!
Mode of transportation: crawling pro and furniture scooter.
Teeth: 8 right now. It's kind of hard to check.
Food: Will eat just about anything I give him, but peas. I'm kind of slow on this food thing and he hasn't tried a huge variety of table food yet. Loves his yogurt though, and graham crackers.
Sleep: Jack is the best sleeper I could hope for, easy to put down, falls asleep on his own. Two naps a day each 1.5 hours. And sleeps from 7pm to 7am. I delight in finding him asleep in odd positions.
Words: can say "ma ma" and "da da" and "apple" but I'm not sure he knows what they mean. We have fun communicating with each other by saying "Aah" back and forth. If I can't see him, I'll say "Aah" and he'll respond with "Aah" back at me revealing where he's gone. Someday he'll realize my trick. I've taught him to scream like a girl too. It's pretty funny, especially when he tries to scream with a quiet voice.
Signing: He can only sign a wave, which is the easy one, but we are still trying to teach him the basics. Milk. Mommy. Daddy. Eat. All Done. Bath. Change.
Favorite Activities: Climbing in the tub, or at least trying to. He loves his baths. He enjoys tickles from Dad. And he behaves really good on all my outings so I assume he really likes to be out of the house.
Least Favorite Activity: Having his face cleaned. Every day it's the same protest. You'd think he'd realize it's not that bad.
My favorite moments: Snuggling in the red chair while he drinks himself asleep. I love holding my sleeping baby.
His favorite items: I'd have to say his pacifier for bed times. His silky blankey. Dad's cell phone and Mom's laptop and camera.
Notable characteristics: Who can not notice the hair! Strangers stop us everywhere I go. I don't ever want to cut those curls off. Also, Jack's never been shy of people.
And a man I highly admire recently said, " We should make the most of today, of the here and now, doing all we can to provide pleasant memories for the future."

Jack- I've had so much fun this year with you, and documenting your life. You are my treasure and I love every memory of you.
