Today outside my window…It’s probably in the 90’s. We’ve had record heat lately. And of course, the sun is shining, always shining.
I am thinking about…how am I going to unpack the mountain of boxes at our new place and have some semblance of order before we head to Utah.
I am thankful for…friends and family who take care of my boys, and all the help we are receiving with this move. I’m thankful for a three month old that sleeps through the night. I’m thankful for tan lines, and Zip Fizz.
From the kitchen…you’ll see dishes filling the sink. Piles of things to do. And counters that need cleaning.
I am wearing…a blanket to keep me warm under the air conditioner that seems to blow air from the arctic. How Perry managed that, I’m not sure.
I am reading…The last book my dad finished writing. I’m wanting to feel close to him right now.
I am looking forward to…living in a house again, and having two sinks in the bathroom, and having a closet bigger than a phone booth, and space to run and chase Jack. It’s one of his favorite games.
I am hearing…The Man From Snowy River play on Netflix. It’s a side effect of 10 years of wearing headphones while on the computer. I love blocking out the world and getting lost in my work.
For me, headphones, something interesting to listen to, and my computer are better than curling up with a blanket and a good book.
A few plans for the rest of the week…Get the kitchen organized. Pack some more. Yard sale on Saturday. Get more photos of Scott. That kid is growing so fast. Trim Jack’s hair.
I need to remember…don’t lift HEAVY boxes. And to take one day at a time. Have I said that before? I need to remember to bring our Final Adoption Decree with us to Utah. A needed document for taking Scott to the Temple with us.
A picture to share…a snapshot of a typical day. Jack wanting to brush his teeth, and Scott just chilling in my arms. And me with hair pulled up and makeupless.
