Today…

Today outside my window…It’s probably in the 90’s.  We’ve had record heat lately. And of course, the sun is shining, always shining.

I am thinking about…how am I going to unpack the mountain of boxes at our new place and have some semblance of order before we head to Utah.

I am thankful for…friends and family who take care of my boys, and all the help we are receiving with this move.  I’m thankful for a three month old that sleeps through the night.  I’m thankful for tan lines, and Zip Fizz.

From the kitchenyou’ll see dishes filling the sink.  Piles of things to do.  And counters that need cleaning.

I am wearinga blanket to keep me warm under the air conditioner that seems to blow air from the arctic.  How Perry managed that, I’m not sure.

I am readingThe last book my dad finished writing.  I’m wanting to feel close to him right now.

I am looking forward toliving in a house again, and having two sinks in the bathroom, and having a closet bigger than a phone booth,  and space to run and chase Jack.  It’s one of his favorite games.

I am hearingThe Man From Snowy River play on Netflix. It’s a side effect of 10 years of wearing headphones while on the computer. I love blocking out the world and getting lost in my work.
For me, headphones, something interesting to listen to, and my computer are better than curling up with a blanket and a good book.

A few plans for the rest of the weekGet the kitchen organized.   Pack some more.  Yard sale on Saturday.   Get more photos of Scott.  That kid is growing so fast. Trim Jack’s hair.

I need to rememberdon’t lift HEAVY boxes.  And to take one day at a time. Have I said that before? I need to remember to bring our Final Adoption Decree with us to Utah.  A needed document for taking Scott to the Temple with us.

A picture to sharea snapshot of a typical day.  Jack wanting to brush his teeth, and Scott just chilling in my arms. And me with hair pulled up and makeupless.

Today…

Today outside my window…it’s half overcast.  Fills like March/April weather in Utah.

I am thinking about…TIME and how slow it feels.  How I’ve changed in a year.  How life is going to change in a few weeks.

I am thankful for…Kathryn who copied the dance warm up from my Utah class and sent me a copy.  I’m thankful for surprise gifts in the mail from family and friends.

From the kitchen….Perry is home and gathering food for lunch.

I am wearing…my Disneyland t-shirt. Gray workout pants.  No socks.

I am reading…the Hunger Games.  Quite dark.  Had to skip a few chapters, but have to know how it ends.

I am looking forward to…time with my family in a few weeks.  Shopping in Utah.  Seeing my mom smile.  A massage.

I am hearing…Jack’s lullaby nap music drifting from the baby monitor.

A few plans for the rest of the week…Honor my dad.  Clean.  Find the last baby box in storage.

I need to remember….to shoot my newborn photos in RAW.  I can’t forget!

A picture to share…I’m playing around with some retro toy pictures for my Etsy shop.  Decorative prints for a nursery.

Today…

Today outside my window…there is a chill in the air, snow drifts in the shade, but the sun is shining.

I am thinking about…how tired I am.  We drove about13 hours yesterday to get back to Roswell.  I’m also thinking about my family as my cousin passed away Monday.

I am thankful for…our big safe truck; every minute I get to spend with family; naps.

From the kitchen…piles of things to put away, dishes to wash, clothes to wash, gifts to appreciate, oh, and a book to read .

I am wearing…my Moab hoody (claimed it from Perry),  gray sweats, and no socks.  I should really go put some socks on my cold feet.

I am reading…Going to start reading the third book in the Fablehaven series.  I highly recommend them.

I am looking forward to…the arrival of baby Scott in about two months.

I am hearing…Hello Dolly playing through Netflix.  A good happy movie appropriate for a sluggish day back from vacation.

A few plans for the rest of the week…wondering where to start, and what to do.  Celebrate the arrival of 2010.   Stock the fridge.

I need to remember…I’ll feel better when I get some energy.  And don’t eat 8 sugar cookies in one day.

A picture to share…Timpanogos, mountain that I love.

Today

Today outside my window…it is perfect autumn weather.  Sunny, with a mild chill in the air.  The messenger of cooler temps to come.

I am thinking about…Jack and hoping he is alright.  He went camping with his daddy last night, and has a mild cold.  I am also thinking about how nice my free time has been.

I am thankful for…a good nights sleep all the way to 9:00 am.

From the kitchen…quietness.  Nothing needs to be cooked.  Nothing needs to be cleaned.

I am wearing…the usual, cut off sweats and a T-shirt.

I am reading…”Opening the Heavens“.  It inspires me to be more like my dad.

I am looking forward to…a trip to Utah to celebrate harvest and Halloween with my family.  Our collective favorite time of year.

I am hearing…the soft singing of my wind chimes.

A few plans for the rest of the week…To visit a farm orchard to pick apples. Mail client print order. To visit our storage shed to find my harvest decorations.  Prepare my lesson for Sunday.

I need to remember…to Take photographs. For yourself.  Be photographed.
To pray for our birth mom, and for the health of our baby.

I think I shall always deliver my posts to this mailbox.  OOOOOO! This will be where Jack can have a picture taken in his Chewbacca costume.

Today outside my window…it’s hot in the 100s and the wind is blowing, thankfully.  No need for the hair dryer today.

I am thinking about…working on my Etsy shop.  My mom back home.  How grateful I am for Perry’s hard work.  “He who has a Why to live for can bear almost any How.”

I am thankful for… my computer, the internet, ways to connect with my family.

From the kitchen…you’d smell nothing, as I haven’t cooked anything today.  But making plans for cinnamon twists.  Still looking for the right recipe.  Think- Holy Cow Boutique cinnamon twists.  Oh, I miss them.

I am wearing…my pink flowing skirt that loves to dance in the wind. Paired with my navy t-shirt.  Barefoot, of course.

I am reading…Man’s Search for Meaning by Viktor E. Frankl.  A little on the clinical side, but has great wisdom in it.

I am looking forward to…my trip to Utah in August, Perry’s birthday cake, planning a trip to Ouray!

I am hearing…music from someone’s blog playlist.  I usually hunt around till I find a playlist I like, then it plays all day.

A few plans for the rest of the week…Tyler’s Eagle court of honor, Perry’s birthday, maybe a trip to White Sands, time in the sun splashing.

I need to remember…to be happy, be positive”

A picture to share…Jack out back, he’s still a little sick and it shows in the eyes. I must confess I’m a little lazy with putting his pants back on after I change his diaper.  So, if you could see all of him, you’d see cute little legs and a diaper bumb.
