Before and After

A sweet little before and after of this angel.

.

Here was my process:
I cropped to place her more prominent in the photo.  I downplayed and darkened the background, and tried to minimize any shine from the background items.   Now your eye bounces from her sweet smile to the smiles in the photo of her brothers.
When composing a portrait, keep in mind that the background can be used to tell your story.    Placement makes a difference.  See my example below.

.

Her mother sent me a handful of images to choose from.  I love her smile in this one too, but I didn’t choose it to edit as I felt she was better framed by the furniture in a different one.

Have any composition questions?  send them my way and I’d be happy to share my thoughts.

Do you have a favorite photo that you want that professional look?  Maybe you don’t have the software or the time.  I’m happy to offer my Photoshop skills to edit your photo.  Click here for all the details.

Lauri, you are amazing! This is exactly what I was hoping for! A perfect picture of her little two toothed grin. :)
